Another 6 Weeks in Ozark- March 16, 2015

Hello Friends and Family,
Last night I found out ill be staying in Ozark for another 6 weeks with Elder Inbody. This coming transfer should be sweet! We are teaching a lot of people who are ready for baptism. Brenda Hughes has been bringing her grandson Alex to church every Sunday and this Sunday he showed up in a white shirt, tie and slacks on! He looked great! We got to see John Corey agin this week and we brought along Eric Phipps (our branch mission leader) and they got along great. John had same questions already written down that he wanted to ask. John has a sincere desire to seek the truth! Every missionaries dream is to come across a guy like John Corey! I feel privileged to be teaching him and his wife. I feel that way about almost all our investigators though. There are some really cool people here in Ozark. I'm excited to stay one more transfer! I love you guys!

We Are All Gods Children- March 9, 2015

Hello Friends and Family,
This week we saw the same people we normally see. Our investigators don't seem to be progressing. Paula Watson didn't come to church so we had to drop her baptismal date for the 17th of March. Her family causes her a lot of stress and to top it off she has bad social anxiety so its hard for her to feel comfortable at church surrounded by people. While going over to teach Brother McGary we met a man named Taylor M. who just so happens to be a member of our church. Taylor lost contact with the church many years ago and went down a very rough road. He is a very nice man. One thing I've learned on my mission is to not judge a person by their physical appearance. Taylor ended up coming to church and stayed all three hours. He enjoyed the service. The Lords kingdom here on earth is for all his children! Love you guys!

Another Email From Me- March 2

Dear people,
This week was another good week. We saw the usual people but we did actually get two new investigators. We are now going to start teaching John Corey's wife, Aubrey. The other new investigator of ours is named Kimberly. She contacted us in Wendy's after we had just shared a lesson with noel Gutierrez who we just recently dropped due to his lack of commitment. Kimberly seems pretty solid and willing to learn about "Mormons" We had two of our investigators show up to church on Sunday so that's always a plus. Brenda Hughes came and brought her Grandson Alex Knight. Chao Vang came also. Kevin Cupak went up to the pulpit and bore a strong testimony. It was a great sacrament meeting. I love you guys so much and im sorry about my short emails. Luckily I do have a picture of elder Edwards and I for your viewing pleasure!

PS Recently ive picked up a new hobby of making ties along with matching pocket squares. The pink tie and pocket square im wearing are made by me. so many missionaries are now asking for ties.

The Power of Part Member Families- February 16, 2015

Hello Friends and Family,
This week we had a great lesson with Maurice Raff. Sister Phipps came with us and invited Marice out to church. She couldn't come this week due to previous arrangements but promised Sister phipps she would attend next Sunday. Brenda Huges came to church along with her grandson who is interested and they loved it. The whole branch reach out to them. Kevin Cupak is doing a lot better now, he hit a little rough patch but has recovered. He just received a calling to be the young mens secretary! How cool is that? I'm really excited for him. He will do great. Chao Vang didn't come to church but we had an amazing lesson with her on the Plan of Salvation. We drew the plan out on this big cardboard box and had her husband Eric explain it so she could understand it more. We have a baptismal date in place for the end of March! How sick is that!!! Im so excited for Chao! The other elders we live with just had a baptism and it was a great service. The Lords work is hastening here in Ozark! I love it and I love you guys!

Another 6 Weeks- February 2, 2015

Hello Friends and Family,
I will be staying in Ozark Alabama for another six weeks. I'm excited to stay longer because good things are happening here. Sunday, Kevin Cupak went up to the pulpit and bore his testimony, he was a little nerves but did a great job. Earlier in the week we went and saw a less active lady named Brenda Hughes, she brought up a concern about the Book Of Mormon. We focused on the holy ghost and how it can resolve our concerns. She mentioned she feels something different when my companion and I go over to visit. Brenda is very sensitive to the spirit and I know she will over come her doubt as she studies and prays over the Book Of Mormon. Our lessons with John Corey are going excellent. We read from the Book Of Mormon and talked about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Elder Inbody and I hit hard on the comfort that Christ gives us when we go through trials. I can truly testify that Christ does comfort us when going through hard times. In no way does he leave us out to dry, he is always with us and wants to give us aid. I love you all

Becoming Better- January 26, 2015

Dear family and friends,
This week we had an amazing lesson with a couple we tracted into a few weeks ago named Maurice and Richard Raff. We talked about the holy ghost and shared a video called patterns of light. In the video David A. Bednar shares his prophetic insight on how we feel the holy ghost. The video touched Maurice and answered her question as to why she doesn't feel the holy ghost as strongly as she wants to. We still have been trying to get back in contact with Paula Watson but she will never answer the door. We know she's inside because we can hear her 3 year old niece screaming through the front door. Its lame but we wont give up on her because the Lord wouldn't do that. Adam  is doing well, he knows that baptism is the right choice he needs to make and has told us but he wont come to church and take the proper steps towards baptism. The hardest thing about being a missionary is showing up to church Sunday mornings excited to see all of your investigators at church,  but one by one they text you and let you know they cant make it. Church is so important! The sacrament that is blessed and passed at church is truly the blood and body of Christ. Its so important for us to apply the Lords atonement in our lives so we can become better. I love you all.

Honesty Is The Heart Of Spirituality- January 19, 2015

Hello,
This week we moved in with the wranch elders down the street. The mission is closing down 15 apartments and ours just so happened to be one of them. The place we stay in now only has one shower so the mornings are rough. Its super sick living with another set of elders because it relieves the stress between the companionships and its always a party! Elder Neil L. Anderson came to our mission on Thursday and the whole mission gathered in Tallahassee to listen to him speak. It was such a powerful sermon on the topic on honesty. He talked to us for three hours straight on honesty, it was insane. He was pulling scriptures out of nowhere quoting verbatim, it was sick. It was amazing having the opportunity to listen to an Apostle of the Lord speak. "Honesty is the heart of spirituality." Said best by Neil L. Anderson. Paula Watson didn't come to church this Sunday but still seems to have a strong drive to change. She accepted the plan of salvation and was really excited to hear that her husband is in good hands. She was glowing when we taught Gods plan for her. When others discover the truth and live it the truth shines through them and thats what is happening with Paula Watson. The Lords message is true and I'm grateful to share it with my brothers and sisters.

My Sisters Brother in Law was visiting Ozark so he took me and my companions out to lunch. It was sweet!
